Stop Stressing About Virtual Training Activities

A new tool is now available to generate all sorts of virtual training activities for you. It works with most virtual meeting platforms and could save you boat loads of time and effort.
Virtual Training Activities in Soapbox

The United States went into lockdown mode as it responded to COVID-19 back around St. Patrick’s Day of last year. It’s been almost a year since the world of learning and development has gone almost exclusively to virtual design and delivery, and there’s really no end in sight.

Are you still able to come up with original virtual training activities to keep people engaged?

Since March, the Internet has been flooded with articles about how to develop engaging virtual training or how to convert your existing content into something that can be delivered virtually. Here in the Train Like A Champion blog, we’ve offered a slew of articles on the topic (some of the most popular have links below).

If you’re simply tired of trying to come up with new activities and ways to keep your learners (who I’m sure are also tired of virtual meetings and trainings at this point) engaged, this week we launched a virtual version of Soapbox that can do most of the activity development for you.

Tell Us About Your Virtual Training Session

Enter some basic information such as the duration of your session, number of attendees and your virtual meeting platform (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Connect, WebEx, etc).

Choose your learning objectives. While you can move through this quickly, many Soapbox users find this to be a gratifying part of the process. Trainers can sit down with subject matter experts (SMEs) and fill in the blanks about their learning outcomes.

Virtual Training Activities Ready for Your Next Session!

Soapbox gives you a whole sequence and flow of activities.

If you don’t love some of the activities, you can choose to swap them out. Do you notice anything about the activity names? They tell you what feature is required to use that activity. But don’t fear, it isn’t up to you to figure out what is in your platform of choice. If you are using a platform with fewer options, you will only see activities that use the functions of that platform.

If you want to insert talking points, you can do that.

Even though these are virtual training activities, most facilitators still want a print-out of the facilitator guide. If you want to generate slides or print out your lesson plan, you can do that too! The purpose of Soapbox is to give you the materials you need to deliver incredible virtual training sessions each and every time.

When we beta-tested Soapbox, users told us this could save somewhere between 4-8 hours per presentation they were creating. At $29/month, it is a cost-effective way to save you time and allow you to focus on other projects at work (or, if you have students at home who just began their school year, perhaps your time savings could be re-invested in helping them navigate their schoolwork).

If you’d like to take a closer look at how this tool works, find a day and time that works for you to schedule a quick Soapbox walk-through.
