Boring Training Activities? Not on My Watch!

Stop Asking for Engagement. Start Designing It.

“Can you help me make my training more engaging?” is one of the most frequently asked questions I get. Instead of answering each person individually, I’ve decided to do a whole webinar on the topic, and we can all get together and talk about engaging activities at the same time!

Join me (Brian Washburn) as I demonstrate at least 6 different activities for engagement over the course of the hour. You’ll also be amongst the first to be able to download Endurance Learning’s NEW training activity cookbook, with 12 additional activities supplementing the original 63 activities from our first edition.

By the end of this session, you’ll be able to:

  • Choose an activity for your training that aligns with your learning objective
  • Determine how to use an activity to see if your learners are “getting it”
  • Perhaps just as importantly, decide which activities you should NOT use for your next training session (because they don’t align with your learning objectives, or simply because you don’t have enough time to use certain activities well)

If you’re interested a training experience focused on building your L&D skills, consider the L&D training offered through the L&D Pro Academy.

The Art (and a Little Science) of the Training Experience Debrief

The Art (and a Little Science) of the Training Experience Debrief

When you’ve managed to make your training activity attention-grabbing, interactive, and engaging, is your job done? Not quite. As training designers and facilitators, we’re also responsible for making sure our learners can connect their ah-ha moments to the real world, and that’s where the art of the debrief comes in. Even if you’re running short on time, making sure that your learners have a chance to think a little more deeply about what they learned and experienced will go a long way to making sure they can and will apply their key lessons learned.

Beyond the Click: How to Create Elearning That Drives Action

When our learners join us for a virtual or in-person training session we can lead activities and observe whether learners are making connections and learning new skills. When it comes to elearning, many designers struggle to design interactions that help learners demonstrate that they are “getting it”?
