Design Training Activities to Boost Performance

Sometimes we just need a new activity to help us engage our learners… but is engagement really our end goal?

Join Brian Washburn as he demonstrates specific, engaging learning activities (that you may never have considered), while using a 4-step training design model.

Based on decades of learning design theory that reflects a combination of Malcolm Knowles’ theory of adult learning, Robert Gagne’s 9 events of instruction and Jane Vella’s 12 principles of Dialogue Education, this 4-step training design model will set both you and your learners up for not only an engaging session, but a session that directly improves your learner’s ability to do something new, different, or better.

Learning Objectives

  • Compare and contrast how Endurance Learning’s 4-step training design model compares to your current methods to design training activities.
  • Use Endurance Learning’s Training Activity Cookbook to choose an anchor/content/application/future use activity for a given learning objective.

Giving Better Feedback to Trainers

Using a defined structure for trainer feedback will help you move from subjective opinions to objective growth. Transitioning from “I liked your energy” or “you offered great stories” to actionable coaching requires a structured approach to observation. In this free webinar, we remove the subjectivity of trainer evaluations. You will identify the four fundamental pillars of effective presentation and receive an observation framework designed to drive measurable performance. You will leave the session with a ready-to-use observation tool and some practice providing feedback that actually moves the needle.

How To Engage Challenging Training Participants

Challenging training participants aren’t just being difficult; they are likely reducing the value of the training session for all participants. As a trainer, you have an opportunity to improve the training session for the difficult participants and for everyone else attending. Using some typical challenging participant personas, you can quickly diagnose the problem and apply strategies that will help redirect the training session and improve the overall experience.
